3M Uni 8™ evolution™ Overhead System
The 3M Uni 8™ evolution™ Overhead System was primarily developed to meet the needs of transport and industrial customers including trucks, trains and aircraft, crane walkways and loading bays. The system has also solved access and safety problems in the entertainment and arena industry.
The Uni 8™ evolution™ Overhead System comprises of an 0.31″ (8mm) stainless steel cable permanently installed horizontal lifeline. It is suitable for any application where a user needs to move in a continuous line (straight and round corners) and suitable anchorage points are available overhead to connect to either ends of the line.
- Provides for both fall arrest and controlled descent, and ensures free and unhindered movement for the worker when carrying out work at height
- 8mm cable system with free running attachment carriage for high overhead applications
- Electro-polished stainless steel (316) components provide long-term corrosion resistance
- Cable system pre-tensioned to 1,125 lbs. (5kN) to reduce cable deflections
- In-line energy absorbers reduces load transfer to the structure in the event of a fall
- System can be designed up to 30m spans between intermediates
- The Uni 8™ overhead Traveler passes freely over intermediate brackets ensuring complete freedom of travel and movement for the user
- Supports multiple workers up to 310 lbs (140kg) each
- Available as a single or multi-span system for distances longer than 100′ (30m)
